Mini Max
Craig Linscer: Fast improving Craig Linscer produced his best work at Whilton. In a high quality full grid, Craig was consistently in the top 10 on the time sheets in the wet practice and his overtaking was text book. Sunday was dry but Craig was still fast and qualified an impressive 11th and finished 13th - a very good weekend.
Harry Campey: Harry drove the HUK Team BRM at Whilton and did an excellent job, after crashing out of two heats Harry left himself plenty to do in the final and with rain in the air it tool a special drive to claim 7th place and his best performance with the team so far. A well deserved and popular result!! Well done Harry. Unfortunately his results took a turn for the worse on Monday morning when "Wardy" kicked his backside at golf!!
Luke Marshall: Luke showed his pace in the first heat driving up to 7th before a mistake from the driver in front gave him no where to go other than the grass!! With a full grid of top mini max racers it was always going to be hard to qualify well after that, but Luke stuck to his task and once again produced his best work in the final with some fantastic over taking, charging through from the back of the field and looking fast in very difficult conditions. An excellent drive and a great finish to a difficult and testing weekend.
Luke Whitehead: Luke was straight on the pace on Saturday in the wet and continued his impressive driving and overtaking on Sunday in the dry winning a heat and qualifying on pole but a quick rain shower while on the grid turned the final into a farce! Wets were quickly fitted but a 10min race delay left a dry track and full disaster loomed! Luke charged away but quickly gripped up and with rain dancing not working Luke had to retire leaving a lot of long faces and disappointment. Very unlucky but that's racing!!
"Wardy's Thoughts"
1st as ever my thanks go to Shaun, "Baz" and the team for their hard work at Whilton. Normally a meeting run like clockwork turned into a farce before the Minimax final with some "knee jerk" decisions spoiling an otherwise good meeting. Safety was massively compromised and it resulted in some karts (including one of mine) on the wrong tyre. I'm very disappointed with this but will have to draw a line under it and look forward to PFi now, next week.
Happy racing!
Wardy.
