The weather made for a difficult end to the season with races won and lost on tyre pressures alone! With 7 drivers in the team we had to be on our toes all weekend!
In Junior Rotax it was a case of crossing T's and dotting I's for Ben Lockwood and Mark Stephens.. with only a disaster preventing them taking 1st and 2nd in the championship but with both having used there drop round early in the season the job needed finishing and that's exactly what they did, qualifying 2nd and 4th meant they only needed to finish and mark 4th Ben 5th was just the job!! Third place was still a five way battle with HUK team driver Craig Linscer in the mix... Craig produced his best performance of his career to qualify pole and looked to have the pace to win but cleverly followed my race tactics and sat in a nice safe 3rd place more than enough to complete a fantastic 123 for the team!!! This on the back of our 1st Pfi championship win shows how competitive a team we are and I'm personally over the moon about it!! Very well done boys!!
Mini-Max needed a big result if we were going to nick it but a crash in heat one for young James Lingaurd left too much to do and we had 2 settle for second but a good result in James' first year in Minimax. My congratulations go to Jack Ryan on winning the championship well done Jack, It's nice to see him win keeping in mind Jack drove for us last year and Is still running the BRM chassis. Luke Marshall finished 4th and Harry Campey 5th.
Overall an excellent season and we now look forward to the dinner dance. I hope to leave in a taxi not an ambulance this year!!!
2010 is set to be an exciting year with us taking the team to Super One. This will be a welcome test of my judgement and race management as well as a great test for the drivers..
Well that just leaves me to thank my team of race engineers for a great season.. Shaun has run the awning to a high standard and were looking to improve even more in the coming year so well done boys!!
Shaun Linscer... Craig Linscer.. Ross Thomas.. Perry Jennett.. and not forgetting big Bert!
I'd also like to wish everyone a merry Xmas and a fast new year!!
Happy Racing!
