Junior Max
Luke Whithead: After just 1 test day Luke had his first Junior race at Whilton and was straight on the pace. With a grid of 44 and all the big teams in attendance Whilton was a tough place to start but it didn't bother the young man and he showed no respect for the "seeded" drivers as he amazed Wardy with his overtaking.
"Welcome to Junior Max" was the verdict after being bashed off in the first corner of the first heat but two good results ensured an 'A' Final. Luke quickly made his way through the pack and into the top ten before running wide coming out of the last corner and beaching it in the safety chippings and all his hard work was undone!!
Mini Max
Harry Campey: Harry is quickly improving as a driverand showed it at Whilton, Harry was consistantly fast in Saturday practice and his overtaking was excellent. With 34 mini's at Whilton three good solid heats were needed but Harry was fired in heat two and as a result qualified near the back but quickly came through the pack and was comfortably in the top 10 when a mistake dropped him back but despite this it was another good showing from a driver full of potential.
Tom Taylor: Tom continues to improve and amaze the team with his natural ability. This was Toms last race as a Mini Max driver before moving into Juniors and despite being 20kg over the Mini Max weight Tom finished heat 3 in 12th place. In the final he lead the novices for most of the race Tom ended 2nd novice and can take great credit for his performance - watch out Junior Max!!
Alex Taylor: Alex as his brother Tom, is improving quickly and looks like anything but a driver in only his 8th event. Some very impressive times on Saturday in the wet showed how far Alex has come on in the last few months. Alex will be a driver to watch out for next year. Sunday at Whilton dealt Alex plenty of bad luck but he still qualified in the middle of the high quality grid.
